Have you ever eaten at a restaurant that is 282 metres high and revolves 360 degrees very slowly? You can do so in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The KL Tower Orbit Dining, also known as Atmosphere 360, offers buffet lunch, high tea, and dinner. They do have plant-based options for vegan or vegetarian diet, but it’s always best to call them before booking a table.
The Vegan Food Options at KL Tower Orbit Dining
They might change their menu every now and then but these were the plant-based (vegan) food available the last time I went.

For the mains, I had rice and soy chicken masala with a side of vegetables and salad. You can always rely on salad at a buffet, though avoid the sesame dressing and only choose olive oil or balsamic vinegar dressing.
There were also vegetable spring roll and samosa.
What surprised me was the Serawa Durian with Pulut Santan. It’s a coconut milk based dish cooked with durian. It’s a warm sweet dessert and I love durian. So this made it all worth it!
Other desserts weren’t vegan-friendly but I was happy enough with the Serawa Durian.
Why Dine at KL Tower as a Vegan?
You might be wondering, why did I as a vegan even bother eating a buffet lunch that didn’t offer many vegan options?
True, vegan food-wise, I admit that it wasn’t value for money. The options were decent but not substantial.
But I still live among people who do not just eat plant-based food. I don’t even go here all the time—only on special occasions like birthdays or other celebrations.
You have to understand that the Malaysian culture heavily revolves around eating food together.
Knowing that Malaysian food in the 21st century is heavily meat-based, you might think it’s difficult to find vegan or vegetarian food. But because of the significant Chinese Buddhist and Indian Hindu population, vegetarian food (some of which are technically vegan, though they don’t call it that) is available if you look for it.
So I’m really grateful that KL Tower Orbit Dining was rather inclusive of different cultures and dietary needs, unlike some restaurants that aren’t.
Enjoy The Kuala Lumpur Skyline!
I’d recommend that you try dining at this restaurant at least once. It’s a nice and unique dining experience, allowing you to see Kuala Lumpur from above without hiking up a mountain.
And don’t worry, you won’t get a headache. You’ll barely notice the restaurant moving.
